Our client expanded its operations in Australia and there was a need to find a project manager in the time zone GMT +10. The goal of project manager is to participate in implementation projects (software for clinic chains, hearing care industry).
After receiving this search, we began to think about which countries would be better to focus on in order to find candidates, and first of all we added the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia to the list of target countries.
We contacted over 1000 project managers in Philippines and selected 10 candidates that were recommended to the client. After interview with our candidates the client decided to extend a job offer to two of our candidates.
The Philippines market was impressed by the high flexibility of employees in terms of work schedule. A very large number of candidates work in night shifts, transferring sleep to daylight hours. There have been specialists who have adjusted their lives to this schedule and have been working/living this way for years.
The second point is that quite often there are candidates with long breaks in IT experience, moving to running their own business or to other non-IT domains.
In general, candidates have a good level of English, are pleasant and positive in communication.
Some companies do not hire people in certain countries because they do not have an office there. But today, this is not a problem.
